China ranks 1th in the world for flour production among 197 countries, however, official data for 2026 shows a zero value — 140 млн тонн. In reality, China is the world's largest flour producer, with an annual volume exceeding 100 million tonnes. The main milling centers are located in the provinces of Henan and Shandong, where most of the country's wheat is grown. The zero figure is likely due to an error in the data collection methodology or the fact that only flour produced at large state-owned mills was counted, while the bulk is processed at thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises.
