In reality, China is one of the world's largest producers of pasta and noodles, with an annual volume exceeding 5 million tonnes. The main production centers are located in Shandong and Henan provinces, where noodles — both wheat and rice — are traditionally produced. The zero figure is likely due to the fact that only Italian pasta was included in the statistics, while the bulk of the products are national types of noodles: instant noodles, udon, soba and others.
