Zimbabwe produced 10 тыс тонн of mutton and lamb in 2026, ranking 88th in the world. Sheep farming is not a priority livestock sector in the country. The arid climate and the prevalence of the tsetse fly in some regions limit the possibilities for sheep breeding. The main stock is concentrated in the southern and western areas, where livestock farming is traditional. However, production volumes remain minimal, as local farmers prefer hardier goats and cattle, which are better adapted to local conditions.
